On the River Flow – December 2017

December 2017
Gene17’s River Flow Newsletter

We are currently in the throws of running through our autumn/winter short course programme in the UK. With a patchy old time again, much like autumn last year. More recently however the rains have come and we have had come great levels for a wide range of courses in Devon.

We can congratulate Deb Pinniger for her recruitment as a lecturer in Fort William at the Highlands and Islands University in Scotland. Both Jakub Sedivy and Jake Holland have been on their travels to Africa and Asia. Plus have been hitting the ski slopes enjoying early snow already across the Alps. Eariler this month at the Gene17 Adventure Paddlers Weekend, our 16th Edition, in spite of low water we had a great turn out again, thank you to all.

This is the last of our 2017 Newletters. After a hard year at Gene17Kayaking, let us say with a few weeks rest ahead for reflection and time at home. We wish you all a Peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Deep in the East Lyn Gorge

Sliding on granite in Italy, a spring delight. For May 2018 we have all three options;
For 2018, something for everyone whether you live local, fly in from a far or drive over down to Valsesia, all with chalet or camping options.

Feels like we’ve been waiting a long time to go paddling in the UK this autumn, some rain, then nothing, some more in a while, a real stop start affair.…….thankfully the weather has started to change in December and people have gotten out recently.  Check out our Winter 2018 offer below.

Our closed course rate, of £250 a day for a Gene17kayaking coach for up to 4 white water paddlers is great value for money, as well as great coaching too. Contact Us for further information and booking.

We always run a full programme of white water courses for individuals too, and through the autumn into winter for 2017/18. Paddlers can of course book on individually, via our Course Webpage.

The uptake this autumn/winter has been strong, especially for technique courses.  For us this means paddlers are starting again to focus on their paddling performance, as well as a strong desire to work through BC qualifications. We have lots of availability for intermediates & aspiring white water kayakers on our Fundamental Core Skills, Progressive & LaunchPad courses.

Check out our News for updates and our popular Facebook Page.
