Gene17’s River Flow Newsletter

Autumn this season has been hit with lots of rain in Devon. All our course programmes are in full swing for white water paddling. Check out the long list below for courses and dates that suit you and your friends.
Recently we have been at PaddleExpo, the global trade show for paddlesports, a key place to see all the new boats and gear for 2020. As usual Jakub gets to run around for Kayak Session Magazine, taking images and capturing video for press releases.
Simon represents Palm Equipment and Dagger, and this year saw the release of the new Nevis PFD. This total new product has been in development and testing for 3 years. The new Palm design looks to create a better fit, has way more pockets than ever before, (finding them all is a task) and a totally unique chest harness adjustment system, whereby there is no excess webbing to cut for fit. The Palm Nevis PFD was recongised with the PaddleExpo 2020 Apparel Award. Simon has been one of the key developers and testers in the Nevis project.

The Adventure Paddlers Weekend, a meeting point for all kayakers near the end of the year celebrates the Adventure Paddlers Weekend! On Saturday Gene17kayaking hosts an evening of new films from recent expeditions. We’ll also have a DJ to see the night through. We leave the daytime free for yourselves to go paddling with your friends, to catch up on old times and have your our adventure. The event is located at the highly popular River Dart, on Dartmoor, as usual.
  • Jakub Sedivy; expedition paddler and superb photographer has hit all the major canyons of central Asia over the past 5 years, from Czech and well known for his presentations. TBC
